Guides

Guides

Guides range from girls aged 10 to 14. They usually meet once a week. Guides have more freedom of choice and as such their Guide wear consists of a range of t-shirts, sweatshirts, a rugby shirt and a gilet.  There are no uniform bottoms so you can wear what you like!!

Guides work in small groups known as patrols. Each patrol is given a different name and every Guide has a badge telling others which patrol she belongs to. Each patrol has a Patrol Leader and a deputy called a Patrol Second.

Patrols make decisions about their activities and discuss them with their Guiders.  Guides work for "Go for its" in their Patrols and record their progress in G-Files.

The Guide promise is

I promise that I will do my best:
To love my God,
To serve the Queen and my country,
To help other people and
To keep the Guide Law

Guides often go on holiday or to camp where they can learn to live together.  Camps give the opportunity to "Go back to nature" by learning to live without TV and modern household appliances.

Guides have their own website.  Click here to see it.

When Guides are 14 they can move on to join the Senior Section.
